How it works
Sculptra was first approved by the FDA for aesthetic use in 2009 and is indicated for shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles. It is supplied as a powder, reconstituted before your appointment, and placed in a treatment plan built around your anatomy. Because it stimulates rather than fills, it is typically administered as a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, with the total number determined during your assessment.

Assessment
Lauren evaluates facial structure, volume distribution, and skin quality, and discusses whether a collagen stimulator, a hyaluronic acid filler, or a combination best supports your goals.
Step 2
Treatment series
Sculptra is placed across a planned number of sessions. Session count and vial quantity are individualized and are not standardized across patients.
Step 3
Gradual change
Results develop progressively as collagen remodels. Follow-up appointments allow the plan to be adjusted as the treatment settles.
Who is not a candidate
Sculptra should not be used by anyone allergic to any ingredient in the product, or by anyone with a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. Safety has not been established in patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18. Sculptra has unique injection requirements and should be administered only by a trained medical provider.
